Terms
Short, because this site sells nothing and there is no account to open. Mostly it exists to say what this page is not.
Last updated
This site belongs to Sadiqeen Co, a trading name of Jarra Omar, a contract software engineer operating from California. If that becomes a registered company, this page will say so.
There is nothing to buy here, no account to create, and no subscription. What follows covers reading the site and writing to me. It does not cover working together — see the last section, which is the part that actually matters.
What you may do with what is on this site
The code samples are yours. Every snippet in an article or case study is free to copy, adapt, and ship in commercial work, without asking and without crediting me. They exist to be useful; asking permission for a fifteen-line function would waste both our time.
The prose, the case studies, and the design are mine. Quote them, link them, and argue with them freely — that is what publishing is for. Republishing a whole article elsewhere, or presenting this writing as your own, is not something I am granting here. Ask me and I will almost certainly say yes.
The measured figures published on this site describe specific builds of specific software. Cite them with that context.
The site is provided as-is
This site makes technical claims and publishes measured numbers. Those measurements are real — several of them are re-measured on every deployment and will fail the build if they drift — but they were taken on particular hardware, against particular builds, under particular conditions. They describe what happened. They are not a promise of what will happen on your project.
Nothing written here is professional advice for your situation. Engineering decisions depend on context this site does not have. If an article persuades you of something, verify it against your own system before betting on it.
I do not guarantee the site is available, current, or free of errors, and I am not liable for losses arising from relying on it. Where the law does not permit me to exclude a liability, I do not attempt to.
Links to other sites
Where this site links somewhere else, that site is not mine and its content is not my responsibility. A link is a reference, not an endorsement.
Writing to me is not an engagement
Submitting the contact form does not create a contract, retainer, or obligation on either side. It does not reserve my time. It is not an offer, and my reply is not an acceptance. Either of us can walk away from that conversation for any reason or none.
Please do not send confidential information through the form. Send enough to tell me what you need; anything sensitive can wait until we have something signed. Until then I am not under a duty of confidence, and I would rather say that plainly than have you assume otherwise.
Engagement terms live in the contract, not here
If we work together, the terms are whatever the signed statement of work says. Scope, fees, timelines, ownership of what I produce, confidentiality, and liability are settled there, per engagement, in a document we both agree to.
This page cannot vary that contract and does not try to. Where anything here appears to conflict with a signed agreement between us, the signed agreement wins. If a description of an engagement model on this site reads differently from your statement of work, your statement of work is the one that binds us both.
That is the entire reason this page exists. Everything above it is housekeeping.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of California have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this site.
Changes
If this page changes materially, the date at the top changes with it. Older versions are in this site's git history.
