How soon will I hear back?
Within two business days, from a person. There is no autoresponder on this form and no sequence behind it.
If what you sent is enough to answer, you get an answer. If it is not, you get the two or three questions that would make it answerable — not a calendar link in place of a reply.
What should I actually put in the message?
The problem, in the words you would use to describe it to a colleague. It does not need to be tidy and it does not need to be a specification — working out what the specification should say is frequently the job.
Useful, if you have them: what has already been tried, what is on fire as against what is merely annoying, and who else has to agree before anything can start.
Is the budget range binding?
No. It is a routing field rather than a bid, and nothing is priced against it.
It exists so that “this is not the right fit” can be said in two days instead of three meetings. If the range is genuinely unknown, pick the one that is closest and say so in the message. How the three engagement models are actually priced is answered on the engagements page.
Do we need to be in the same time zone?
No. The work is remote, and the overlap a given engagement needs is agreed at the start rather than assumed — some need a few hours a day, some need a call a week.
